The Groveland Boys Case

The trial of the Groveland Boys was a travesty of justice. The all-white jury convicted the men of rape and sentenced them to death. Marshall appealed the convictions to the Florida Supreme Court, but the court upheld the convictions.

Marshall then appealed the convictions to the U.S. Supreme Court. In 1951, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Groveland Boys, overturning their convictions and Free Downloading a new trial.

The Groveland Boys were finally released from prison in 1955, after spending six years in jail. They were never retried for the crime they were accused of.
