The Beatles were founded by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. They began their career playing skiffle and rock and roll music in Liverpool and Hamburg, Germany. In 1962, they signed with Parlophone Records and released their debut single, "Love Me Do". The single was a commercial success, and the Beatles soon became one of the most popular bands in the United Kingdom.

In 1964, the Beatles released their first album, Please Please Me. The album was a critical and commercial success, and it helped to establish the Beatles as one of the leading bands in the world. The Beatles continued to release successful albums and singles throughout the 1960s, including "With the Beatles", "A Hard Day's Night", "Rubber Soul", "Revolver", and "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band".

In 1970, the Beatles broke up. However, their music continues to be popular today, and they are considered one of the most important and influential bands in history.

John Lennon

John Lennon was born in Liverpool on October 9, 1940. He was the eldest of two sons. His father, Alfred Lennon, was a merchant seaman. His mother, Julia Lennon, was a housewife. Lennon's parents divorced when he was five years old, and he was raised by his aunt, Mimi Smith.

Lennon began playing guitar at the age of 15. He formed his first band, the Quarrymen, in 1957. In 1960, the Quarrymen changed their name to the Beatles. Lennon was the band's leader and primary songwriter. He was known for his distinctive singing voice and his introspective lyrics.

Lennon was a controversial figure. He was an outspoken critic of the Vietnam War and other social issues. He was also known for his drug use. Lennon was assassinated by Mark David Chapman on December 8, 1980.

Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney was born in Liverpool on June 18, 1942. He was the youngest of four children. His father, James McCartney, was a cotton salesman. His mother, Mary McCartney, was a midwife. McCartney's parents were both music lovers, and they encouraged their son to learn to play music.

McCartney began playing guitar at the age of 14. He formed his first band, the Quarrymen, in 1957. In 1960, the Quarrymen changed their name to the Beatles. McCartney was the band's co-leader and primary songwriter. He was known for his melodic bass playing and his catchy songs.

McCartney has continued to be a successful musician after the Beatles broke up. He has released several solo albums and has collaborated with other artists. He is also a successful businessman. McCartney is one of the wealthiest musicians in the world.

George Harrison

George Harrison was born in Liverpool on February 25, 1943. He was the youngest of four children. His father, Harold Harrison, was a bus conductor. His mother, Louise Harrison, was a housewife. Harrison's parents were both music lovers, and they encouraged their son to learn to play music.

Harrison began playing guitar at the age of 12. He formed his first band, the Quarrymen, in 1957. In 1960, the Quarrymen changed their name to the Beatles. Harrison was the band's lead guitarist. He was known for his distinctive slide guitar playing and his spiritual lyrics.

Harrison left the Beatles in 1969. He went on to have a successful solo career. He also collaborated with other artists, including Eric Clapton and Ravi Shankar. Harrison died of cancer on November 29, 2001.

Ringo Starr

Ringo Starr was born in Liverpool on July 7, 1940. He was the only member of the Beatles who was not born in Liverpool. His father, Richard Starkey, was a baker. His mother, Elsie Starkey, was a housewife. Starr's parents divorced when he was three years old, and he was raised by his stepfather, Harry Graves.

Starr began playing drums at the age of 13. He formed his first band, the Raving Texans, in 1959. In 1962, Starr joined the Beatles. He was the band's drummer. Starr was known for his steady drumming and his cheerful personality.

Starr has continued to be a successful musician after the Beatles broke up. He has released several solo albums and has collaborated with other artists. He is also a successful actor. Starr is one of the most popular and beloved musicians in the world.
